Travel Guide: London

Hey there! Today I’m going to share with you a guide to my favorite city to travel to: London, England. I love London and have been going there with my family since I was little. I am going to be sharing with you both touristy and non touristy things to do depending on what you’re looking for! Even though because of Covid-19 there may not be travel to the United Kingdom soon, it is still fun to plan out future vacations.

Monuments to Visit

There are a lot of beautiful monuments and history that London has to offer. One of the most known are Big Ben, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, and Westminster Abbey! If you get to Buckingham Palace at 11 am you will be able to see the changing of the guards which happens every morning  Mon-Sat and  10:00 am on Sunday. The Tower of London is also a great place to visit because it houses the iconic Crown Jewels. Hyde Park is a beautiful place to go if you want to take a walk or  sit and have lunch somewhere, plus it is right next to Kensington Palace. In winter, there is an amazing fair in Hyde Park called Winter Wonderland that has lots of rides, food, and drinks you should definitely check out.

Shopping

Some great places to shop are Covent Garden, Oxford Street, Camden Market, Selfridges, Harrods and Portabello Road.

Food

London has some of the best food in the world. If you choose to visit Harrods the ground floor has a bunch of restaurants with all different types of cuisines. One of my favorites is the sushi restaurant but there are tons of options to try. Another classic restaurant is Sketch (its also a really instagramable restaurant!) which you can visit for afternoon tea or for dinner. A few restaurants more on the expensive side are the Ivy Chelsea Garden, Sushi Samba, and NAC. The best Chinese food in London is Duck and Rice. For the classic fish and chips The Golden Hind is one of best known restaurants to eat at.

Getting Around

The best way to get around London is by taking the Tube. It is supper easy to navigate and if you do not have time to buy a ticket you can use Apple Pay instead to scan in and out!

I hope this helped and you have an amazing time in London! Let me know if theres anything you think I should add!

XOXO,

Brooke
