Hey loves! My sophomore year of college I had the opportunity to move into an apartment with two roommates. It was a two bedroom apartment with a living room and kitchen. I was fortunate to have my own room while my two other roommates shared the second bedroom. When decorating my room I chose a minimalistic boho style with neutral colors. Im going to share the furniture I chose as well as tips for styling your own college apartment!
My apartment was on the second floor so I knew carrying up my furniture required some planning. I used the website Living Spaces for my large pieces of furniture because they have an optional add on for delivery and set up of your pieces. I used them for my bed frame, nightstand, and desk and would highly recommend doing this.
The bed frame I chose is a simple nude upholstered panel style. I have the full size which was $350 plus delivery. The color bellow is no longer in stock online but the same bed in charcoal is linked here.
For my mattress I looked up reviews and found that the best mattress for my price point was the lull mattress. This mattress is delivered to your doorstep in a box so it is very convenient. It is more of a firm mattress and is very conformable so I highly recommend it. You can find it here for $699.
I wanted simple white bedding to match the neutral colors of my room and I found this duvet cover from Anthropologie for $188, but they often have sales on their bedding. I chose to keep the pillows simple by only adding one tan body pillow which is unfortunately sold out but can be found in green here.
I definitely needed a quiet place to study so I wanted to have a desk in my room. I got my desk from living spaces and it is a simple white desk. You can find it here for $295. My desk chair is super simple from Target and features the same color upholstering as my bed frame which keeps my room looking cohesive. It is $210 and can be found here. My bedside table is the same style as my desk and can be found here for $170. I found a black lamp with a white lamp shade from Target to sit on the night stand.
To match the black legs of my chair I put a black picture frame from Target on top of my desk with a photo of my friends in it! For wall decor I wanted to keep it minimal so I added three mirrors from Urban Outfitters on the wall above my desk. Combined the three mirrors retail for $72.
The best place to find prints for your walls to spice them up is Society 6. A ton of my friends have these prints on their wall and they are so cute and affordable! My apartment came with a full length mirror attached to the back of my door so I didn’t need to buy one by you can find affordable ones at Bed Bath & Beyond!
I hope this helped you with some design inspo for your own apartment, happy shopping!
